Global law firm Dentons has launched a new internally developed AI tool, DAISY, which provides secure generative-AI competences to the entire staff across Europe and Central Asia.
The product was developed by the firm’s Europe innovation and intelligence team, alongside the technology team, with the aim of being a cost-effective and scalable solution. Its capabilities include document summarisation and drafting, a translation module and a browser of the firm’s policies. Dentons plans to evolve the platform further by introducing web research, company profiles, news monitoring, opportunity intelligence, rapid prototyping and custom retrieval augmented generation applications.
The firm’s Europe innovation and intelligence director, Břetislav Šimral, said: “DAISY is a model-agnostic, plug-and-play system that delivers diverse generative AI capabilities while ensuring a consistent user experience. The modular architecture allows us to choose the best LLMs [large language models] for each workflow, easily integrate third-party tools, quickly adapt to new real-world use cases and easily upgrade or connect DAISY to newer models as they emerge.”
Meanwhile, Dentons CEO Wendela Raas stated: “The launch of DAISY is a milestone for our firm. Not only will it help boost the productivity of both lawyers and business services professionals alike, but it will also help to strengthen Dentons’ position as a leader in innovation.”
The launch of DAISY marks a significant step in Dentons’ broader AI journey. The firm has also recently announced its involvement in training Europe’s sovereign legal AI, Noxtua, as well as its participation in JuriAIring, a non-profit initiative that’s evaluating the effectiveness of legal AI tools across various practice areas.
